Pastor Emmanuel Irame has condemned the hypocrisy associated with activities of modern day clerics of Christianity who exploit members of their congregation in the name of God.

He criticised the approach of clerics who preach gospel of prosperity mainly to collect money from the people without concern for their salvation and personal welfare.

He said it was the desire of God to provide material needs to the people so as to have comfortable life and therefore, the complaints of some persons not serving God because of bitterness of poverty is uncalled for. Rather than asking for money before serving God, he encouraged all Christians and members of LGD in particular to prioritize the service of God first and every other thing will be added to them.

“Change your concept to realize that your coming to LGD is basically not because of money, health or security but solely to serve God and worship him. Everybody should be committed to the service and worship of God and if you do, I have the divine mandate to empower those who truly serve God. You complain of lack and ask, should one not feed well before praising God? But I urge you; praise God first for man shall not live by bread alone. Set your mind to serve God and your other needs in money, good health, job, marriage etc will be given to you. You have to write exams before you get results; you plant seed before harvesting the fruits. So, invest in praising God.

 I have been accused of changing scripts of pastors and re writing them. I saw that in a dream some time ago and now it makes meaning to me. All what they preached I turn them around that their preaching is wrong. They are preaching to people to collect money from the people. Ride on you are blessed whereas you are not blessed; you are healed whereas you are not healed. All to get what they need; the small money to run your house they collect it. You went to church because you were in financial distress and the man of God would collect the little money remaining in your keep from you. He would use the money to buy an airplane, an expensive car, build a comfortable house for himself and his wife and send his children to schools in overseas.. He keeps asking for offerings, you lose money and he gathers and grows his wealth. Who is collecting? Sow seeds, if you want God to help you sow seed. Seed of the womb, seed of business, altar seed; they are collecting from you and you say it doesn’t matter, is it not only N30,000? But you are not the only person paying. He collects from everybody and in one day he makes million. They gather members to increase the money to be collected. They would rob all your family members, your company workers and directors. They do not desire to save your family. Their interest is in what they would collect from you. They are hypocrites.

They set up Business Empire, open branches of the church in strategic cities across the country. They use the name of God to defraud the people. God has rejected their songs of praise to Him. And they don’t even care whether the offerings they collect are from ‘yahoo’ so far they collect the money. Whether it is money from prostitution they don’t care and say they will pray for the prostitutes. They serve the god of Mammon. You are ignorant of their intrigues but by the mercy of God one day your eyes will be opened.

God created you to worship him. Your soul may be crying because you are not saved. Consider what your mouth says whether it is blasphemy. Ensure your communication edifies God. What you are planning is evil. You plan for Satan. You meditate to grow Satan by thinking who you will rob, how you will sleep with another man’s wife, steal from someone, how you want someone to die so you will not pay house rent, all sorts of evil.Be guided by the exhortation of King David when he said:

‘Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O lord my strength and my redeemer” Psalm 19:14
