Pastor Emmanuel Irame has presented a new exhortation for Christians and members of LGD to toe the path of righteousness and way to salvation through a parable of the Rod.

In a recent sermon penultimate week, Pastor Irame likened every leader in a group or community to a rod which directs, corrects, protects; saying the rod possesses authority and exerts the power of such authority.

“It instructs and is used to control a people” He said.

According to him, the Jewish leader Moses put the rod to use in Egypt to protect the Israelites, part the Red Sea and struck the rock to provide water for the thirsting Israelites. It was the same rod that Moses cast on the ground and it turned to a snake to show the power of God and convince the Israelites that Moses was truly a Messenger of God. The rod is Providence; he continued adding that Jesus is a rod.

Anyone who can teach, guide, chastise and correct is a rod. He informed that in those days the rod was just a stick but when Jesus came Jesus said the rod was in the heart of man; that it could be found in the mouth and tongue and inside of man. It is the word of God which provides, defends; it is your staff and is all about one’s life. It is your father, mother, husband, wife siblings and your children.

“Anything that can give you confidence and power is your rod. You are a rod to me. Without you I have no power. If I am a rod and you are a rod, if I am your father you are my child. My God is a rod, Oracle is a rod and whoever listens to Oracle is a rod too.

“I speak in parable; the rod is authority, it is the glory of God in us. All power has been given unto you, power to step on snakes and serpent and none shall harm you. It is only a rod that can destroy snake so you are a rod.  God created the world in six days and created a man as a rod to control all he has created. The Devil desires to use the rod to destroy the works of God but God’s rod is stronger than the rod of Satan and for this reason, Satan was pushed down from heaven. The Earth is not the home of Satan, his original home is heaven but he has been cast down to the bottomless pit from where he comes out in search of people he can use the rod to control as slaves. He deceived Adam and Eve and in the process they lost their rods to Satan. Because of this great loss God has engaged his prophets, evangelists and other workers including myself the Oracle to preach to you so that you can recover your rod. Your rod is the source of your life. The moment you lose possession of your rod Satan takes control and destroys you and your possessions. God has sent me to come and help you restore your rod and transform every living soul to become a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God.

Let me tell you the story of the rod. In a vision, Lucifer the Devil invited the son of man to the fireplace and did a practical demonstration for instruction of the usefulness and value of the rod. Do you know that Satan knows more of the value and use of the rod? H e was the first to have the rod; he has knowledge of the rod. So, he called the son of man to teach him the knowledge of the rod. Man claims he knows the rod but the Devil knew the rod before man. It was his disobedience to God that made him to be chased out otherwise; he was with God the father in heaven and therefore has knowledge of the rod before man. That is why he is able to invite man to come to him to share knowledge of the rod at the fireplace.

The rod is very important; it is all about life, all about God and authority. It is knowledge. If you get the knowledge of the rod you would be satisfied. The Devil placed the rod in the fire where it smoldered and then he bent the hot rod to different shapes as he desired.

The spirit of God interpreted the vision clearly. The rod represented mankind and the fire is the series of temptations that man is subjected to by Satan the Devil. The Devil puts men in the fire of life and bends them to crooked shapes, deforming humans from the original straight, sincere and honest natural course God has made them. Thereon, man can no longer appear straight before God. When the Devil hits man with a barrage of temptations his heart will change and man perverts from the way of God, and listens to the voice of Satan to lie, steal, kill, rob and commit all sorts of sins and crimes; and because the man has been made flexible and malleable after exposure to the heat of fire, he loses the strength of spirit and is not able to resist the wiles and commands of Satan.

“Wake up, wake up oh man, as you bend along the wish of Satan you will bend into the gate of hell and lose your touch with God. Here is the direction, here is the straight line. Don’t let your rod be bent out of course and shape because if you do, you cannot enter the kingdom of God with a rod that has a crooked shape. Don’t fall out of the glory of God by letting Satan bend you through that temptation. Resist the Devil so that God will straighten you again and restore your glory. And when you have been restored and strong, you will have the power to prosper and rejoice once again. Please do not allow the rod of the wicked rest in your heart so that you will not be exposed to temptations and commit sins of fornication, adultery, stealing, murder and every other of such evil that are the joy of Satan. (Psalm 125:3)
