Pastor Emmanuel Irame has reiterated call on members of Love God’s Direction Ministries (LGD) to engage the strategy of singing and praising God to tackle the challenges they face in life.

In an exhortation delivered to the church last Sunday, August 25, 2024 the Cleric recalled the episode of Paul and Silas whose liberty were restricted in prison but rather than making a fume of the situation they found themselves, they resorted to singing and praising God and in the process help came down from heaven and turned around the situation.

He recalled that when the Israelites in the days of Moses were confronted with the difficulty of overcoming their enemies, they obeyed the instruction of God to sing and render praises to Jehovah and in obeying that simple instruction, the walls of Jericho collapsed. In the same manner, he said, when Paul and Silas sang songs of praise the prison walls collapsed and their liberty were restored as the prison doors opened for them to walk out.

“When you are faced by any challenge in life sing and praise God and the problem will collapse before you. When they sang and praised the prison doors fell, so also when you sing and praise God all your enemies will fall before you. They will beg you to show them the way of salvation just as the jailers of Paul and Silas begged for their lives as recorded in Acts 16:29-30.

He encouraged the congregation to realize that their enemies, those after their progress, peace and comfort in life are themselves not safe especially when Christians invoke and call on God through songs and praise to intervene.

“If you are a witch and you are told to kill all members of your family, you too are not safe because when you have finished killing all members of your family Satan himself will kill you.

According to him, as the jailers were shivering and feared for their lives after God intervened to set Paul and Silas free, so the enemies of the praying and thankful Christian will beg for their lives

“Those who say your children will not prosper those who say you will not enjoy your children and your business and those who say you will not enjoy your marriage shall face the wrath of God and whatever they planned against you shall return back to them.”

He said the suggestion by Paul and Silas to the jailers on how they could get salvation was simple in asking them to only believe in Jesus Christ. They did not ask the jailers to go on fasting programme, go to mountain or engage in serious prayer session, but simply asking them to believe on the name of Jesus Christ and they and their household would enjoy salvation.

Explaining the sequence of the process of salvation he said after repentance, the individual is baptized into the faith and described baptism in the context of Acts 16:31 to imply confirmation of the individual and not necessarily requiring immersion in some volume of water; but “ laying on of hands alone could be sufficient.

“Baptism means confirmation of a change of heart of a person. I can confirm or baptize you with a word of mouth and you are baptized. When you express sobriety, show that you have a contrite heart, realize that you have sinned and ask for forgiveness with a commitment not to go back to the sin again, and I pray for you, you are baptized. You can even baptize yourself. The baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist was an exercise that preludes the confirmation of Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit as the Son of God. God baptized me in a dream and gave me a mandate to preach the gospel and encourage people to sing and praise God. I don’t need another baptism.’

 He further admonished the congregants to in line with the scriptures recorded in John 5:24-25, listen to his voice and the messages he gives assuring that in so doing, they will be delivered from their troubles.

“No matter the level of your poverty if you listen and hear my voice you will be rich, if you were dying in spirit and you hear my voice you will live, no matter the level of social pressure you are facing if you open your mind to hear my voice you will overcome.

“Satan knows this secret and he makes sure that when I am preaching your mind would be in your business, in an unfinished quarrel and other distractions that will make you not concentrate on the preaching because he knows that when you open your heart to hear the word of God you would be free. Your ears should therefore be opened to hear the word of God.

“The whole matter is you should hear the word of God and understand it and then you will live a happy life, you will not fear death again, your business will flourish and your marriage will be happy and successful. The day you realize that what you are doing is bad and you decide to change, that is when salvation comes to you, that is when you are baptized.”
