The doctrine of payment of Tithe as a requisite for going to heaven has been described as nonsensical and off-key in the tune of the Last Gospel of Christ.
Founder and Leader of LGDISM, Pastor Emmanuel Irame critiqued the doctrine during a sermon he delivered at the Love God’s Direction Church Auditorium in Warri, last Sunday, June 2.
Contrary to what many popular Church leaders have escounced and proclaimed about the relevance of paying Tithe in relation to access to heaven, Pastor Irame said the payment of Tithe is meant to raise funds for the running and acquisition of equipment and facilities for the church to grow and not a passport to heaven.
” Tithe is meant to let us find answers to questions like, ” How can we buy a car for the church? How can we provide food for the less privileged? How can we expand the building of the church? And such other related questions. The answers to those questions provide solutions to earthly challenges and carnal desires but never to take anyone to heaven. Paying your tithes will not take you to heaven because there is no need for the things tithe money can buy in heaven.”
He said the basic requirement to attaining and gaining access to heaven is reflected in the Last Gospel, which is to worship God, stressing, “that is the only activity that promotes the chance of anyone gaining entrance to heaven.
” Those things will not take you to heaven. Heaven awareness is to worship God and that is the only thing that really matters. If you like pay your tithes and don’t worship God whether you would go to heaven.” He said.
